Live The Life Getting Started....RIGHT NOW!

Ok...So as many of you know I LOVE the Kristi Approved, Live The Life Program.   I have completed the first 7-Day challenge and I am onto the REAL DEAL.

I am starting DAY 1 of 84, tomorrow, Monday the 29th of March.

I have shopped and prepped my food and redefined my goals.  I am going to take each week one at a time from here on out.

END GOAL:  Develop new habits in my life around food, nutrition, and exercise ( I am a self proclaimed CARDIO-JUNKIE!)  I am going to incorporate LOTS more resistance training into my daily life.

NEGATIVE LIMITING BELIEFS TO OVERCOME:
1. Food is a reward.
2. I NEED something sweet after dinner.
3. If I have eaten good all day...I DESERVE a treat!

The reality.....Food is not a reward - Pedicures are rewards.....I don't NEED anything after dinner except some peace and quiet PUT the kiddos to bed (and maybe take a hot bath)......and If I have eaten good all day - why the heck should I ruin that and eat junk?  See above (take hot bath).

Anyway, I am excited to start this 84 day journey with you.   If you would like to sign up for the 7 Day Challenge just click here.

FREE GIVEAWAY COMING SOON!

P.S. You may be surprised that this is NOT really a DIET...just a way to get healthy!  (Added benefit: You usually lose weight too!)

We are entering a very exciting time in our lives....I have a feeling one of the most fun and exciting that we will ever have....I am really overwhelmed with happiness!

Kristi Approved 7 Day Challenge Final Results

I did it.  I reached my goal exactly!  There's something to be said for goal setting.

THIS PIC MAY BE EXAGGERATED a little...

I want to preface this with BEFORE this week I had already cut out sugar from my diet almost completely and I already worked out 4-6 days at the gym.  So having these results didn't come from someone just starting out (if you are starting out you will lose MORE).  Imagine what you could achieve if you are just starting out your weight loss journey..........

I got on the scale this morning to a happy 156 lbs staring back at me, not 156 (point) anything....Just 156.0 EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited I could scream!  I have one pound to go to reach my goal for March 18th Match day too.
I do all of my measurements on a regular basis too, I lost a total of 3 inches overall.  That's really great!  My goal was 5, but I think it was a little lofty because I don't really understand how inches come off yet.

TRUE STORY:

I have a skirt in my closet, well one of about 100 skirts in my closet =) and I bought it a long time ago.   In fact the receipt is still attached because I have never worn it.  I bought it on April 4, 2005.
This is exactly 20 days before I had Bennett, my first child.  So obviously when I bought it I was a little too big to pull that size 8 pink brocade with sequin's (it really is cute...seriously!) up around even my thighs!   ( I was over 200 lbs when I delivered him!)  I thought well, I LOVE this skirt and I will just wait until I loose the weight, the skirts were flying off the walls at the Banana Republic at Trolley Square and I HAD to have one!

I put it on this morning and zipped it up.   End of story!

Thank you for being apart of my first 7 days on Kristi Approved, Live The Life.  I have had a blast blogging about it.  I plan to keep updating on my progress.  If you are not convinced you should be!  Go here to get started.

Spring...Ahhh.....open toe shoes.....

So here are new shoes I'm obsessed with right now.  These shoes are awesome!  Can I just tell you that I hear the question, "What color shoe should I wear with my (insert: pink, ivory, blue, coral, teal, lemon, ect......) dress?"   The anwser in Spring or summer is always a light tan or a really great nude.  WEAR THESE!

Banana Republic is having our Friends and Family March 18 - 21st, if you want one, let me know!!!   I will email you one or send you a link to get one.

Kristi Approved Day 6

MY FIRST GAIN......

Ok, so today I experienced my first gain in 6 days.

Weigh In:  157.6  +0.4 lbs   Total loss:  3.4 lbs

So not really earth shattering, but a little disappointing.   I will say (**this is way too much info**)  that yesterday my "monthly visitor" made an appearance.  So with that in mind I usually jump a few pounds so I am happy with .4 lbs.

I am still loving most of the food, there is one dish I really don't look forward to, but all in all...I've got to say I am really enjoying the entire plan.

I cant wait to start the weekly conference calls.  For those who know me - you know I love that sort of motivational stuff.

BY THE WAY....I was reading on the Kristi Approved website and came across this motivational booklet for goal setting by TY Bennett (A self made millionaire before he was 25) .  This is a VERY helpful review of your goal and really helps you to internalize your reasons for doing Live The Life or anything really.

I'm looking forward to my final weigh in and measurements tomorrow........STAY TUNED!

Kristi Approved - Day 5

So I made it through the weekend!

I have a few things that I want to share today ......  First of all I had some sugar-free black licorice, so I cheated a little, sorry!  Second - I really think my complexion is better from eating so clean!   I ate a protein bar for one of my meals yesterday because my church is 3 hours long and it seemed to do the trick.
I did order the Carbrite Bars but I haven't gotten them yet.  I ordered Toasted Coconut and S'more and I hear they are really good.

Weigh in:  157.2  -.8 lbs   Total Loss:  3.8 lbs  WAHOOOOOO!!!!!!

I want to weigh 155 for Match Day on March 18th and I think I'm going to be there if not weigh a little less!

I am VERY PLEASED with my results at this point!   Visit Kristi Approved to try the 7-Day Trial yourself.

Kristi Approved Day 3 recap

Day three was a good day, I still think I am going to burst open in the morning when I finish the protein shake!  But it keeps me going strong all morning through my workout so I think its working.  I even chose to cut back a little on my second meal of the day...nothing too substantial...just 1 egg white instead of 2 and 1 TB of corn and beans instead of 2, but I just didn't want to eat, so I choose to cut back a very small amount.   I did add the peppers and mushrooms to the rice bowl and I didn't get that afternoon hunger pang again.

I felt a little deprived in the evening time of a sweet treat (one of my huge downfalls anyway...too much sugar!) but I held strong and didn't give in even a little.  (I am sorry for the makers of Swedish Fish, I may have single handedly  kept them in business!)

I went out with a friend in the evening and just took along the Veggie Delight (totally delish!) and ate it in the car.  I find its easy to make meals work on the go if you HAVE to.  The smoothies can be frozen the night before and thawed the day of so you can bring them to work.  YOU CAN MAKE THIS WORK IF YOU WANT TO....I guess that's my point!   I did have a friend inquire about a vegetarian option and I directed her back to the website for contact info.

OK.....Weigh in time:    159.0   -.8 lbs    total loss:  2 lbs.....remember this is only DAY 3!

2 pounds in 3 days is NOT bad!  I'm happy with it....I am really looking forward to 158's because they have been a long lost friend since I had Bennett, this will offically be the lowest I have been since I had a child 5 years ago....I LOVE YOU KRISTI APPROVED!

Live The Life Day Two Recap

Wow...we are already onto day three!   So as far as day two went here is the summary.

I was just as full in the morning with the first shake - even overfull.  As the day progressed I felt really good.  I got a little more hungry in the afternoon, which makes sense because this is when I usually snack when I shouldn't anyway.   I did however decide to go and get some red and green peppers and mushrooms to add to my chicken rice bowl on day 3 so we will see if that helps the hunger factor.   The evening was great, I tried my pizza with sauteed onions and zuchinni (sauteed in Pam).  I think it make the pizza go from OK to really good!  Thanks for that suggestion Amber!  I felt full until bedtime today.  Overall I am really satisfied with the food.

Day One I did Body Pump and Day Two I did an hour of Zumba and did not do resistance like recommended though.

Weight Day Two:  159.8  -.2 lbs  Total:  -1.2 lbs

I am having a bit of a hard time with the weight loss....I know, I know....I shouldn't weigh in every day, but I just have to - its my personality.
I was hoping for a few pounds the first couple of days but I am sticking out and I am fully aware that solid weight loss is gradual!

Thanks again for reading, leave me any comments that you think would help!

Kristi Approved Diet - Day One recap

So day one was lots of fun.  I really enjoyed the food and I felt really full all day long, in fact the protein shake in the morning is just too much for me because I am not used to eating that early yet.  I got a little hungry right before bed, but thats not bad!   Amber was the most hungry....darn that super fast metabolism of hers!

I loved the second smoothie, which is a Jamba Juice type smoothie, very fruity and a little tropical.  My least favorite meal is the Canadian Bacon Pizza in the evening, which has no canadian bacon???!!?! - I will try to spice that one up today.

Weigh in after day one is:  160.0   -1 lb

Here we go day two....

Zumba this morning was awesome too...the local TV station was there recording for the Evening NEWS....so maybe Amber or myself will be on TV shakin' it!

Live The Life - Kristi Approved

My friend Julie told me about this awesome diet/way of life....Its called Kristi Approved or Live The Life diet.  I have recruited a couple of friends to do it with me...  Mel and Amber!  We started today after a couple days of planning, shopping, and prepping.

We are taking advantage of the Free 7-day Challenge.   You can click on the title of the post and it will take you to the website for Kristi Approved.

We took "BEFORE" pictures and measurements, along with setting goals.

I will NOT share the "before" picture...but I am going to share my goals.

Waist Measurment:  33 inches
8" under the belly button:  40 inches
Weight:  161

1.  What is your Vision?
I would like to see an overall inch loss of 4-5 inches in the first week.  I would like to weight 156 (I am 161 now).  This would be the lowest weight I have been at since before I had my first child.

2.  What is your Mission?
I want to feel confident.  I want to be able to put on clothes and feel good, not "FAT".  I want to see the muscles in my arms and my collar bones.

3.  What is your Strategy?
Plan, Plan, Plan....and prep food for the entire week.  I will not eat off of the menu AT ALL this week, no exceptions!

4.  Who is your follow through partner?  What day and time will you check in with them each week?
My follow through partners are Melanie and Amber.  Julie is also my follow through friend, but has been on the plan for 5 weeks now.  Amber, Mel and I will check in at various times throughout the week and call each other if we need encouragement or advice.   We will also call to celebrate successes!

5.  Write your Affirmation here ( I am):  I will weight 155 by Match Day, March 18th.  I will be planful with my approach and keep my long term goals in mind.  My level of commitment is extremely high.

So there you have it.  These are the goals they have you set and follow through on.  I thought I would do every part of the 7-day Challenge to make sure I follow through.   I am really excited to see some results and feel awesome!

Thanks for reading!

The Bachlor Finale

Dun...dun...dun...who does Jake pick?????

Can't wait to see, I vote Tenley!  But I think he goes with Vienna...and maybe some drama and he chooses Ali above all.

Popcorn and Amber, should be a great 2 hours! (pretty much a waste of 2 hours of my life, but I LOVE IT!)
